Infant Education

Exploration for Infants

Our Infant classroom is a loving and nurturing environment where  wonder, curiosity, exploration, independence, and discovery come alive. Montessori teachers carefully prepare the environment each day to provide a safe and welcoming space for infants to explore the world around them. The environment is designed to promote growth in all areas of an infant’s development.

Curriculum

The earliest years are among the most formative of a child’s life. At Elizabeth Academy, our infant curriculum builds the cognitive, emotional, and physical foundations that every child needs to thrive.

Montessori Method

The routines of everyday living are the foundation of our Montessori Infant program. Activities promote independence, order, coordination, and concentration, as well as support social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. These learning activities include: self-care, care of the environment, large-motor activities, fine-motor skills, language, and social skills.

Social Development

A child’s mind develops rapidly at this profound stage of development. At this stage, infants build a foundation for our toddler program, where they begin to discover who they are and how to interact socially with their teachers and peers. They develop social relationships with others their age and learn to do new things through peer observation.
